ABOUT ANGIE JOHNNY YALDOO
DETROIT'S FASHION MAVEN PIONEERING STYLE WITH MUSIC HARMONY
My Story
I was born in Baghdad, Iraq and my love for fashion and self-expression started at a very young age. Part of my early exposure to fashion came from the culture there, learning that you never leave the house without lavish jewelry. Perhaps that is where my deep appreciation for accessories began.
Both of my parents were fashion enthusiasts, and they instilled in me the importance of looking one's best and self-care. I also had an older sister whose fashion sense I admired and often borrowed from.
As I grew up, I drew inspiration from icons like Gwen Stefani, Betsey Johnson, Alexander McQueen, Rick Owens, and Patricia Fields. I've always been passionate about the intersection of music and fashion, particularly in genres like Rock 'n' Roll, Punk Rock, and Hip Hop. Supporting boutique stores, a love for vintage fashion, and a knack for mixing thrift store finds with unique, non-mainstream brands became integral to my style.
I started my journey in the fashion industry at a young age, working in retail and styling people during my teenage years. I later ventured into independent boutiques and eventually became a buyer for an iconic men's and women's boutique.
Currently, I own my own menswear & barber shop — Youngbloods in Hazel Park, MI. I curate, buy, and set trends for the market area I serve and the shop was recently awarded "Best Mens Clothing Store 2023" from Hour Detroit Magazine.

One of my greatest pleasures is transforming clients' visions into reality, from crafting character wardrobes for films to styling professionals for commercials. My top priority is making everyone I work with feel confident and beautiful, celebrating diversity in body types.
